Efficiency is a Byproduct, Not the Goal

When organizations design processes, the goal isn’t speed—it’s consistency. A well-crafted process delivers predictable outcomes, aligns teams, and reduces errors. Efficiency, on the other hand, is a byproduct of mature processes, not the starting point. Expecting instant gains often leads to frustration and shortcuts.

It’s like building a highway. First, you need a strong, well-planned road network. Only then can you bring in a Ferrari and test its speed. Without the road, even the fastest car won’t get far.

The real challenge for leaders is balance: design robust, repeatable processes first, then streamline for speed. In today’s dynamic landscape, ask yourself—are we building highways for scale or racing ahead on shaky ground?

"Consistency builds the road, efficiency is just how fast you can drive on it"
